Allie Ritch Teaches Us "Alien Sex 101" and Has a Book for You!

Hi everyone--

What a treat to get to welcome my friend Allie Ritch to the blog. Allie has been so great to me over the last year and i have gotten to participate in a lot of fun activities on her blog. It's a GREAT blog BTW so be sure you hop over and follow her. (see the link below) Today she is bringing us her new release titled Alien Sex 101. It's the first book in a series and, yowza, i think we're going to be standing in line to buy it. Comment and YOU MIGHT WIN this book. Remember to leave your email so Allie can find you. Take it away, Allie:

Thank you so much for inviting me to your site, Tara. I do so love looking at all your beautiful boys.

For those of you who don’t know me, I write erotic sci-fi and paranormal romance. All writers are also readers, and those are the subgenres I love reading the best, although I enjoy other categories, too. Science fiction, especially, offers a playground for the imagination, which is probably why it’s my favorite. In sci-fi romance, you can give your hero any look, any culture, or even—ah-hem—an extra body part or two.

I’m extremely excited to have my new book, Alien Sex 101, out now from Liquid Silver Books. This is the first book in my Alien Sex Ed series—the first series I’ve had published. The series takes place in the city of Trilanta on a travel-hub planet of the same name. Picture a busy airport in Atlanta or a melting pot like New York City, only filled with aliens coming and going or making a home there. Trilanta has wonderful diversity. Unfortunately, that diversity can cause misunderstandings when human/humanoids from different planets get romantically involved.

When I first started writing Alien Sex 101, I did not have a series in mind. In fact, I thought I was just writing a single novel full of vignettes about various alien couples. I don’t think I was more than a few days into drafting when I realized the work was growing. By the time I finished writing about the students from the first class year, I had over 200,000 words—way more than a single novel.

Like I said, we writers are readers too. So I tried to look at the work from a reader’s point of view when dividing it up. Why not give readers more bang for their buck? Instead of just one fully developed romance per book, I divided the series so that each novel has two. Alien Sex 101 follows Xindra and Quinn, the instructors of the Alien Sex Ed class, for the first half of the book, and then we get to watch Mera and one of the students, Trett, fall in love in the second half. All told, there are eight couples, two per novel. This has the added benefit of keeping each of the books a consistent length, which would have been more uneven if I’d turned them into eight novellas.

I’ve already contracted with Liquid Silver Books for Alien Sex 102 and am in the middle of edits. I don’t want to spoil the surprise, so I’ll just tease you. Can you picture a man with four arms and an extra naughty appendage? Maybe a little m/m/m/f? I play with just about every physical combination I could think of, keeping things fun while subtly addressing issues of race, gender, and sexual identity in a sci-fi context.

I can’t tell you what a fantastic time I had writing this series, so I hope readers have even half as much fun. Liquid Silver Books didn’t rate this one Molten for nothing—Alien Sex 101 and its sequels are the spiciest books I’ve ever written. That’s one way to warm up this winter.

Personally, I’ve been keeping toasty reading about Roan Black, so thank you, Tara! Keep those beautiful boys…well, um…coming, lol.

And in case you thought the gift-giving portion of the year was over, here’s a chance at a freebie. I’m giving away one free copy of Alien Sex 101 to a lucky commenter on this post. Just be sure to include your e-mail address. Also, anyone who wants to read my paranormal romance story, “To Love Again” in Just One Bite: Volume Four, can download it for free from All Romance eBooks at http://www.allromanceebooks.com/product-justonebitevolumefour-644153-140.html (you do need an ARe account, but that’s free too).

Blurb: When New Earthling Quinn makes love to his Allurian bride on their wedding night, he discovers a few surprises. Like the fact that losing his virginity to an Allurian woman is painful. He and Xindra are able to work things out, but they realize other interracial couples on their planet face similar problems. They start an Alien Sex Ed class, but this isn’t your ordinary anatomy lesson. This class is very hands-on and more than a little steamy. Xindra’s friend, Mera, is the first to benefit when she meets and falls for one of their students, Trett. As an Ibration, Trett doesn’t thrust during sex; his penis vibrates. That’s perfect for an Oquaran like Mera, who’s so sensitive she comes almost instantly and can’t stand a lot of chafing. When Xindra and Quinn notice more than one of their students checking each other out, they have to wonder. Could the romance between Trett and Mera be just the beginning?

Excerpt:

Gently grasping his hand, she rolled to her back and moved his fingers until he was cupping her breast. Her nipple thrust up into the warmth of his palm, and the sheets whispered softly when Quinn shifted his hips. His clear blue eyes stared at her with renewed hunger as he flexed his fingers in a light massage. She hummed in approval.
“Do my breasts feel the same as a New Earthling woman’s?” she asked.
He shifted his hand in a circular motion. “Yes, but no New Earthling breast ever felt so good.”
She smiled at that. “Do my breasts taste like a New Earthling woman’s?”
With a wicked smile, he obliged her by taking her into his mouth. The moist heat made her squirm in pleasure, but he only rasped her once with his tongue before pulling back.
“Yes,” he answered, “but I’ve never enjoyed the taste of another woman the way I enjoy you.”
Feeling dreamily aroused, Xindra pushed his hand down the length of her torso until he reached the triangle of down between her legs. Spreading her knees, she pressed his palm against the soft pink folds that were already blooming for him.
“Do I feel the same here as a New Earthling woman?”
Quinn ran one broad, rough finger between her dewy petals with torturous slowness. She tilted her hips and whimpered when he touched the little button near the top of her slit.
“You’re formed the same,” he said, “but no other woman has ever felt so tempting.”
Finally she took his finger and tried to press it inside. He hesitated and glanced up to meet her gaze.
“I’m different inside. Not like a New Earthling woman.” She waited, hardly daring to breathe.
A flicker of doubt crossed his usually confident face, but it was gone before it truly took hold. Then she saw what she’d been hoping for—a hard flare of lust mixed with no small amount of curiosity. She gasped in relief and pleasure as he finally pushed that blunt finger into her. Although he was only trying to explore, not arouse her, the twists and turns and thrusts of his finger had her melting around him. She couldn’t wait to have his erection seated inside her again. Judging by the way it was now prodding her hip, he was seriously considering it too.
“It won’t hurt again?” he asked.
She smiled and slid her hand over his cock, making him groan. “You’re smooth and uncovered. No more pain, baby.”
He moaned again when she stroked him, and then he was on top of her, spreading her wide and probing her with his tip. Obviously cautious, he pressed in slowly. She listened to him pant and tried to let him set the pace even as the growing pressure inside made her want to burst.
“You’re so tight I can hardly stand it,” he choked out, but he didn’t stop. With a whimper, he shoved in the rest of the way and held still except for his heavy breathing.
“Are you in pain?” she asked.
He let out a strangled laugh. “Define pain.”
She used her hands to draw soothing circles along his sides and back. “What do you feel?”
“That little finger inside you has crooked itself under my glans.” He had to gasp for breath. “It’s so hard it’s almost painful.”
“Almost?”
“Almost,” he conceded. “Instead it’s a different kind of torment.”
“Then let’s torment each other.”
Cradling his head in her hands, she looked into his handsome face and kissed him with her whole soul behind it. Then she let her head drop back to the pillow and used the rest of her body to hold him.
“Make love to me.”

  5. One of the reasons I love SF Romance is all the wonderful variations in creatures and worlds that are only limited by the author's imagination! Alien Sex sounds like a fun, sexy series - would love to win it :-)

  7. Brenda, I'm a big paranormal romance fan myself. SFR isn't all that different, just another flavor. Both paranormal and sci-fi leave lots of room for creativity. I hope you'll give aliens a chance :-).

  8. Amber/VampedChik (love that ID, by the way), thanks so much. The cover art is courtesy of Tuesday Dube. I told her I wanted lots of color and a real sci-fi feel to it. She hit the mark, and I've been getting great feedback on the cover.

  19. I usually have trouble coming up with titles for my work, but with this one, I had the title in my head before I even wrote the first word. Everything sort of flowed from the concept.

  20. Hi Allie-- Thank you for being here! And thanks to all of our visitors for making you feel at home. I am real title oriented. I usually create a book title before i write a word and, as you say, the whole story flows out of the title. Only one of my books was named after it was written. : )

  21. I was happy it worked out that way with this book. I was set on the title and was relieved when everyone at Liquid Silver liked it too. Honestly, in the world of erotic romance, who doesn't want a little sex in the title?

  23. Your book sounds great! I was wondering who were some of your favorite erotic sci-fi and paranormal authors? I prefer paranormal myself but like sci-fi enough to be interested in who you enjoy. Especially, if its erotic sci-fi. Thanks for giving us a peek.

  26. Oh, that's a tough one, Suzette. The real huge-name authors I like in those genres are JAX/Jacquelyn Frank, Emma Holly, and Angela Knight. For one of the funniest authors of erotic sci-fi romance, Becky Black is terrific - I visit her blog all the time, and the one-liners from her books crack me up. I'm still working on my gigantic TBR list, so I haven't read her work yet, but Jessica E. Subject has me intrigued by her book, Celestial Seduction. Amber Noris's Telomere trilogy sounds promising too - she was just entered in the SFR Pitch Tournament along with fellow SFR authors Kaye Manro and Melisse Aires and got some nice votes. The list goes on.

  28. I'd like to add Belinda McBride as one of my favorite scifi romance writers. I love her books. Try Uncommon Whore if you haven't read that one. And if you like your scifi with some MMMF menage, i loved Tymber Dalton's Love at First Bight. : )
