New Books from Tara! Action Packed Fall Coming Up.

Hi everyone -- I just want to share my excitement over the release schedule i'm looking at for the rest of the year. Please realize that this person had her first book published in January of 2011. The idea that i will close the year with SIX published books is mind-boggling and fills me with so much gratitude i get misty-eyed. Here's the way it's stacking up.

Volley Balls -- In two days, my M/M/M summer romance novella will release. It's an action-packed little read and full of characters that i really love. I hope you will too.

Golden Dancer -- September! Late in the month, Loose Id will introduce my first romantic suspense, a M/M/M erotic romance, as part of the Men of Mystery series. I'm so happy to get to be a part of this special collection.

Deceptive Attraction -- For those falling in love with Jake's younger brother, Caleb, in The Scientist and the Supermodel, you'll be delighted to hear that he has his own story. Deceptive Attraction, a M/M/F menage, is the sequel to Genetic Attraction and it will be out in November.

Mistletowed -- Just this week, i learned that Loose Id has accepted my holiday novella for publication. A quirky story, a little bit paranormal, with M/M, M/F. and M/M/F romance plus light BDSM, Mistletowed will be out in December.

So that's the lineup. I have tons of editing to do to make these books ready for your eyes. I'm sure looking forward to it! Thank you so much for visiting the blog.  :  )

Excerpt  Volley Balls by Tara Lain M/M/M Menage Contemporary

AVAILABLE July 1 from Etopia Press  http://www.etopia-press.net/

David Underwood needs to go to AA – Alpha-lovers Anonymous, but his ogling of two Australian volleyball players on Laguna Beach gets him harassed and terrified he might be in for a repeat of his previous abusive relationship. Australian, Gareth Marshall needs to come out. A lifetime of hiding his orientation from his best friend and volleyball partner, Edge, as well as everyone else around him, has left him hurt and frustrated. When Gareth gets a load of David posing nude as the Micheangelo statue in the famous Laguna Pageant, he knows his hiding days are numbered. But Edge has his own secrets, and may just take them out on the two lovers. And David's ex-lover has some nasty plans of his own. With everything stacked against them, can a flaming gay Laguna boy find happiness with an alpha male – or two?

A firm hand gripped his penis and moved it to one side. David looked down, unable to see over Rodney’s permed red hair. “Excuse me, darling, but what the hell are you doing with the body makeup down there?”
Mischievous dark eyes glanced back. “Well, dahrling, you’re much better hung than Michelangelo’s version of David, so I have to make this cock look like a part of the statue. Let’s say they couldn’t have used a fig leaf on you, sweetie.”
David laughed. “Flattery will get you everywhere, and I will confess that, sadly, this is the most action this cock has had in quite some time.”
“See, that’s why you have to come tomorrow night. You won’t forget, otay?”
“I said I’d be there.”
“Voila.” Rodney stood, pushing David toward the mirror in the crowded, messy dressing room.
David smiled. Well, okay. His reflection showed that, as promised, Rodney had outdone himself with the body makeup. He’d mixed some subtle shine into the matte white used to simulate marble, and he’d applied it extra thick. With the curled white wig on his head, and the white sling in his hand, David was…David. The image of the great Michelangelo masterpiece. Although in real life, David knew he was a bit prettier, not quite as masculine as the statue. But in this makeup, the resemblance was total.
“Wow. That looks cool,” Mike said. He was one of the other Pageant performers who’d agreed to pose nude and had been assigned the special “nudist” dressing room.
David continued smiling. “Yeah, I’ve got to admit our Rodney has outdone himself.”
Rodney proceeded to bow grandly until another one of the statue models snagged him for a touch-up.
“Places for the classical series.”
The scratchy public address system was barely coherent, but David and the others went to the stage where the impressionist art series would have just finished. Even when the backgrounds were so soft and dreamy and the figures diffuse, the amazing combination of set painting and miraculous lighting created the impression of an actual, life-sized oil painting on the stage. The illusion was so complete people came from all over the world, year after year, to see the famous Pageant of the Masters.
He stood in the wings as a Venus came off the stage, her skirts dragging and bare breasts bouncing in the white makeup. She winked at him. “Give ‘em hell, gorgeous.”
He walked onto the stage in the near darkness, stepped onto the pedestal, positioned the sling in his hand and cocked one knee. Taking a deep breath, he became still. He was ready.

Gareth shifted uneasily in the darkened amphitheatre. Another scene change. The effects were lovely and sometimes awe-inspiring, but he’d gotten the idea in the first half-hour. He liked real theatre with a plot and actors. This was more like a spectacle. He was ready to go.
He glanced to his left at Edge. The big man seemed fascinated with the show. Intriguing, since Edge had the attention span of a gnat. The other guys were more restless, jabbing each other when the bare-breasted art pieces appeared, but they were all guests of the Pageant so it wasn’t appropriate to be rude.
He settled back for the duration. Maybe a little catnap. The lights came up as he started to close his eyes. He heard an indrawn breath and looked up. Holy, bloody, everlasting hell.
In the center of the vast stage on a rotating platform in a single perfect spotlight was David, the masterwork of Michelangelo. Gareth had seen it in Florence several times, and every sense he had told him he was looking at the actual statue, although his mind knew this was a human being. Glowing, luminous, absolutely still…sweet bloody Christ, how could someone do it? How could they have found a person so perfect?
He noticed a deep stillness in the audience and also among his mates. Edge was absolutely motionless. Unusual for him. But the statue, the guy, was just that beautiful.
As he stared, his mind took over. The model’s legs were not as big and muscular as the Michelangelo. This “statue” was a bit leaner and even more graceful. The pedestal kept turning. He squinted. Bloody hell, he’d seen that perfect ass before. He peered into the pool of light as the “David” rotated. And he’d seen those perfect cheekbones.
Well, hell, it was the guy from the beach. Gareth rifled through his program for the name. David Underwood. The fag. Gareth shifted onto his hip, leaning away from Edge. Wouldn’t do to let his pouf-hating friend see his massive erection.

Best Book and Book of the Week! The Scientist and the Supermodel!

First let me say CONGRATULATIONS to Darcy who won the marvelous Selena Illyria book, Sex and Chocolate: Double Dipped.

And while Darcy is celebrating, so am i! The Scientist and the Supermodel has gotten a huge compliment! It was rated Best Book at Whipped Cream Reviews and then that was followed by the readers voting it Book of the Week! Here is the wonderful video that was made for me by the great folks at Whipped Cream Reviews to celebrate my win!

Even better than my video is the amazing review i received for this book. It actually made me cry. Here is a little piece of it:

It's funny how, when you read a book that is so good, the characters not only hold your attention but your heart as well. In this story I got to see the lust and love of both Roan and Jake grow and bloom into something everlasting. As I watched the tale unfold, I could not help but wish them both the best and hoped they'd come away with everything they wanted. Not only does the book have an in-depth plot that broke my heart, it also had a beautiful air of tenderness that left me breathless.

See what i mean? To read the rest, go HERE!

My sincere appreciation to Myrtle who reviewed the book and to Marianne who made the video with such skill and care. Thanks to all of Whipped Cream Reviews for this wonderful opportunity.

Welcome Selena Illyria. Sex and Chocolate. YUM!

Hi everyone --

I am so happy and honored today to welcome my good friend Selena Illyria who is bringing her brand new release, Sex and Chocolate: Double Dipped. Talk about getting us where we live in every possible way! As you know, Selena writes some of the steamiest paranormal romance around. This one is also interracial, urban fantasy and MENAGE!! Yikes. My Kindle is already steaming. And Selena is going to give away a copy of this exciting novella to one lucky commenter. Don't miss it!

But before we heat up, Selena is going to tell us a little about how to cool down and how she has been trying to learn to do that.

Being Kind To Yourself

Relaxing. Easy to say, harder to do. Ever had those moments where you want to just let go, have some time yourself and yet you find yourself doing other things or letting people get in the way? I’ll admit it, it’s hard for me to let go and relax. I find myself plotting books or having conversations with characters to figure out how to make them pop in a story. I always say, I’m going to take this day off or that day off, only find myself in front of the computer not doing what I really need to do: taking it easy.

But recently I realized I needed that time to myself. I discovered I had high blood pressure. It wasn’t scary for me. I’ve lived with stress for a long time, something I got used to and shrugged about. Now, I realize I need that time to myself. I need to take care of me and let go of things. With each moment that I take for myself, every time I relax I find ideas become clearer, stories flower with ease and I’m more open to things. Relaxing, being kind to myself isn’t so bad.
So how do you relax? How do you heal yourself after a long day?

Maybe one way to relax is to read Selena's new book. It may make our hearts beat faster but we'll think of it as aerobics!  Here's a delicious excerpt:

There she is again. Sean sipped his latte and watched as the curvaceous woman he'd spotted a few weeks ago moved to her usual booth in the corner, close to the window.

His inner tiger rolled over onto its side and began making a sort of purring sound that reverberated through him. His hands shook so badly, due to the vibrations, he couldn't hold his coffee. Stop that. The tiger picked up its head. The sound stopped. It let out a growl before rising and padding away into the darkness of its cell.

With a sigh, Sean shook his head. He knew he'd have to apologize for that later, make it up to the animal somehow, maybe shift and do a run in the woods at the back of his house. A short run.

Another sip of his latte and he sniffed the air. A light, floral scent drifted toward him, riding a burst of coffee, sweet pastry and bacon. He settled back into his chair and watched the mystery woman. She was wearing baggy clothing again, but the fabric couldn't hide the curves underneath. He could see her full breasts pressing against her top. The skirt might have hung slack, but it couldn't conceal her rounded ass and hips.

His cock jerked in his jeans. Since spotting her, he'd spent his nights stroking his shaft and fantasizing about riding her ass, feeling her back passage squeeze his cock so sweetly. Fire flooded his veins as the slow, simmering arousal spread from the pit of his stomach to cascade through his body in a tidal wave.

Breathing deeply, he closed his eyes and ordered the change back. He wasn't going to shift, not here, not now. His tiger wasn't going to take control of the situation and ruin things.

The big cat had become restless as of late. It had become more and more impatient as the days went by and Sean's bed remained empty, without the woman the feline felt belonged to them. Its silent impatience ricocheted around his body, demanding that he go kidnap the woman and mark her as belonging to him.

But not just him. His brother and his tiger had shown interest in her as well. Mitch had preached patience, but he wasn't the one who had a randy tiger close to mating heat inside of him.

"She's here. Good." Mitch took a seat next to Sean. The presence of his sibling eased away some of the sensual warmth threatening his control. The scent of strong, black coffee with a hit of milk and sugar drifted toward him, making his stomach clench.

"How the hell do you drink that stuff?" He downed the last of his latte and prepared to get up and get another one along with something to eat.

"Simple," Mitch grinned. "I put it in my mouth and swallow. Get me a bagel, will you? I didn't have time to make something before I left home. Didn't want to miss her."

Sean rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah."

He took the time to study her from a new vantage point. She had soft brown eyes, high cheekbones, full lips and smooth, creamy brown skin like milk chocolate. He wanted to see every inch of her exposed to his view. The fire thundered through him again.

His tiger growled, impatient. Go to her, it demanded.

Patience, he argued.

Sean sniffed the air, catching her scent. There was a sadness in her perfume, a quiver of uncertainty that made him want to take it slow. Well, that and Mitch. He wouldn't move without his brother. They were a pair, and if a woman couldn't accept them both, there was no deal. Mitch was all he had that mattered in the world. Their parents had died when they were little, and the local felines hadn't been hospitable. It was rough but at least he hadn't been alone.

His gaze settled on the woman again. She sipped her coffee and ate her breakfast slowly, as if she had all the time in the world to savor things. He loved that. Sean could only imagine her taking her time exploring him. A shiver raced down his spine to hum at the base of his back. His balls hardened as his cock pressed against his fly. Breathing slow and steady, in and out, he marshaled himself. His tiger padded out of the darkness, face set, determination sparkling in its eyes.

No, not yet, he told the animal.

The tiger snorted and turned, sauntering away. Its impatience rolled through him, leaving a dark stain in its wake. He could feel its frustration as if it were his own. If he wasn't careful, man and beast would become one.

Mitch looked relaxed and at home in his seat. He glanced up, blue eyes sparkling with mischief. "I think we should make our move next week. We've watched long enough."

Okay friends, hold onto your hats and knickers because i have noted sexologist, Dr. Charley Ferrer on the blog today answering questions you have always wanted to know about BDSM! I'm not going to take up much room here, because Dr. Charley has really provided some amazing information and stimulation. BUT, please comment. Her new book, BDSM for Writers, is delayed, but someone who comments will win a copy as soon as it's available. AND today, another commenter will win their very own pair of Shackles from Dungeon Delights!! So, comment like crazy.

And here's Charley!

What is a sexologist? How does it differ from a sex therapist?
A Sexologist is someone who studies the science of sex; behavior and patterns, interactions and techniques, and provides education.  A Sex Therapist provides not only education on sexuality but also approaches it from a clinical psychological perspective.  As a Clinical Sexologist and Sex Therapist, I address sexual dysfunctions, emotional and psychological problems which affect an individual’s ability to be in a positive relationship with others or merely with themselves. I also incorporate Hypnosis and bodywork into my practice teaching patients to overcome inhibitions and embrace their sensual and sexual divinity.

What is BDSM? What does it include in terms of practices?
BDSM is the acronym for Bondage, Disciple, Sadomasochism. It takes into consideration the Power Exchange as well as Dominance and submission. It also incorporates Master/slave relationships though this is one of the higher levels of interactions within the D/s community and the rules of interaction are slightly different between Master/slave than with individuals who merely participate in BDSM activities. There are various levels of BDSM interactions, for those merely wanting a little kink with their sex, to those wanting the power exchange all the away to total 24/7 Master/slave relationships. Unfortunately, there are so many misconceptions about the BDSM lifestyle and there’s a lot of prejudice and stigma attached to it. I’m hoping my books BDSM FOR WRITERS and BDSM THE NAKED TRUTH (a slightly different version for the general public) will help dispel many of them.

How did you get interested in BDSM?
I actually officially discovered the lifestyle when I was working on my Masters in Psychology. I took a course in Sex Therapy and I had to treat a couple who was suffering from some from of sexual dysfunction. The man in my group had been suffering from impotency of the past six months which stemmed from his desire to spank his girlfriend and his feelings of guilt associated with the desire. When I asked the girlfriend if she had a problem receiving a spanking, she said, “I’d love it!”  So I gave them permission to explore! He called me the follow day to share that his impotency problem was over and they were taking a week off to enjoy themselves. I was so proud of myself. My first patients cursed in one-session, yahoo! When I returned to class to share my amazing accomplishment, my follow classmates were appalled that I would “sanction” such behavior. It was at that point the philosophy for my Private Practice was born since I believe as therapist it’s not my place to “Judge” my patients but to help them learn and explore the possibilities for their sexuality and let them decide for themselves.  I subsequently went on to learn more about sex and obtained a Doctorate in Human Sexuality, a Clinical Sexologist Certification, an Erotologist Certification, and Sex Educator degrees. I’m now the only Latina Doctor of Human Sexuality in the United States and at the top of my field.  In 2005, I created the Dominance and Submission Therapeutic Mentoring Model and presented it before the World Congress of Sexology and the International Congress of Sexologist & Medical Physicians in Latin America. For the past 15-years, I’ve created and taught various workshops incorporating aspects of BDSM, Hypnosis, self-empowerment, and sensual sexual enhancement for men and women, physicians, law enforcement and the mental health community. And now, writers!

How did you get the idea to write a book on BDSM for Writers?
That’s actually a funny story and shows how the Universe works in mysterious ways. First I have to say, I never thought to write a book on BDSM much less one for authors. I actually found myself hyperventilating when I started writing the book. I was so nervous writing for you all (authors), I got major writers block. I mean, you’re the ones I go to for romance and fantasies. Even with seven books on sexuality and self-empowerment and having won an award for Best Self-Help book under my belt, I still trembled when I sat down to write. LOL.
Anyway, there are actually two people to thank for this book and for the general public’s version—BDSM THE NAKED TRUTH.  The first of these is Joey W. Hill. Her book, The Vampire Queen’s Servant, was the first BDSM book I read that actually depicted the lovingly respectful and erotic connection that is at the heart of a Dominance and submission relationship. When I contacted her to share how “disappointed I was to learn she was a woman because I wanted to kidnap Jacob, the lead male character in the book”, she chuckled and graciously agreed to appear on my TV show PLEASURE. However, as she didn’t live in New York City she informed me of the event she was due to attend and offered to meet me there. This is where person to thank number two comes in, Stella Price. Stella graciously allowed us to film at her Author’s After Dark Conference and even asked if I’d sit in on the BDSM Panel they were conducting to help normalize this uniquely erotic and misunderstood lifestyle. After the panel, I was asked if I’d consider writing a book on BDSM for authors.  Five months later, I not only completed BDSM FOR WRITERS but BDSM THE NAKED TRUTH a slightly different version for the general public.
When you stop and think about it, both these books owe their creation to a romance novel! It’s mind boggling when you stop and consider how your novel, your words, may affect another’s life and have such an amazing affect. Thus my thanks goes out again to Joey W. Hill for starting it all and for graciously writing the forward to BDSM FOR WRITERS despite her busy schedule.

Are more writers getting interested in BDSM?
Over the years I’ve seen many writers add some aspects of the Power Exchange to their writing. Unfortunately, many authors are trapped in the misconception Hollywood has provided of the Bitch Dominatrix with 5-inch spiked heels and leather corset yelling at a man to get him to obey. Or the sniveling submissive woman catering to everything her Master demands. In reality this is so far from the truth, I have to chuckle.  However some writers I’ve seen in the past few years have begun to show the beauty of Dominance and submission as well as its profound intricacies. Perhaps this desire to incorporate BDSM stems from the fact that society is more tolerant of sexual diversity then in decades past.  And though more writers are throwing in “Whips and Chains” into their story, they’re still missing the target. It’s why I’ve agreed to do a series of BDSM workshops with Savvy Authors to help authors really understand the psychological and emotional connections behind the Power Exchange, and of course provide a few tricks of the trade, so to speak, in order to make your characters more believable and provide a more respectful approach to the lifestyle. Of course you’ll always have your villains but it should be a strong distinction between them and your D/s characters.

What are typical mistakes writers make about BDSM?
The most common is changing the characteristics/personality traits of a Dominant and making them submissive half way through the scene. Typically it’s done with the woman dominant in an attempt to show vulnerability and perhaps play into societal dictates.  Another big mistake is the submissive being happy to have the nipple clamps removed after some time with them on. In reality, the submissive would be begging for their Master/Mistress to leave the nipple clamps on as the actual pain comes with their removal. Just think of what it’s like when your foot falls asleep and you try putting circulation back into it.

What’s the most difficult aspect of your career as a Sex Expert?
Actually the hardest thing for me as a Clinical Sexologist and Sex Expert is the censorship I’ve experienced over the past 15 years which is still ongoing. And by its very nature, the censorship is happening without the public knowing about it. For instance, I was once hired to speak to a group of adults on enhancing their love life. Two minutes before going on stage I was told I couldn’t say the word “sex” nor talk about sexual intercourse. I wasn’t even allowed to mention my website because it was called SexuallySpeaking at the time.  Another time the Chamber of Commerce I belonged to refused to publish my business card in their newsletter because it said I treated Alternative Lifestyles. I once walked into a job interview and the first words out of the individuals mouth were, “I googled you”.  I just smiled and said, “I’m not getting the job am I.”  He shook his head and stated they were a “Christian Hospital” and promptly showed me to the door.  I guess in their hospital no one has sex.  And of course, dating at times can be difficult since most men either run from me because they fear I’ll judge and find inadequacies, or only want to date me because they think I’m a slut and immediately want to have sex forgetting I’m just like every other woman wanting to be romanced and wined and dined.  Would I give it up, NEVER!   Chuckles, I’m talking about my career of course.

Tell us about your new books. Where can we buy them!?
Well in actuality there’s two of them and we anticipate a release date of August 11. I'll let everyone know as soon as a final date is set.  One book is for author’s and the other is very similar in nature but without all the writing character traits and writing tips for the general public.
BDSM FOR WRITERS:  Provides authors with valuable information about Dominance and submission and the emotional and psychological connections people make in this uniquely erotic lifestyle. This book helps author’s develop stronger and more realistic characters, plots, and scenes. It provides information on the basics as well as characteristics, personality traits, etiquettes and advanced aspects for the lifestyle such as how to train a slave, the benefits and pitfalls of rewards and punishment, and even a full chapter on various ways to use punishment and humiliation on a male or female submissive/slave giving you different tricks for each.

BDSM THE NAKED TRUTH: Opens the door to the uniquely erotic lifestyle of Dominance and submission and dispels many of the misconceptions that Hollywood and the media have propagated. It pulls back the leather curtain and reveals the truths about the respect, love and affection shared by men and women who embrace this lifestyle. It dispels the incorrect assumptions that BDSM is wrong or pathological and reveals the NAKED TRUTH of how we all enjoy a little taste of the power exchange in our own daily relationships.

Pre-orders of the books are now available and there will be super prizes for the first 50, 100 and 300 buyers. The paperbacks will cost $19.97. and the e-books are priced at $9.97. Welcome Tristram La Roche! "On My Knees" Plus Contest!

It's my pleasure to welcome author Tristram La Roche to the blog. I will now confess (i haven't told him this yet. LOL) that i chatted with him for a while before i knew he was a man, romance author names being what they are.  But i am so delighted to have the perspective of a male writer of M/M romance to share with all of you. And be sure and comment, because Tristram is going to award a copy of his book to a randomly selected commenter. Enjoy!

M/M - Fiction Without Frontiers

I feel so honoured to be invited here by Tara. She is already an established Mistress of the genre whilst I am a relatively new writer and my novella, On My Knees, is my debut M/M romance.

Although I’m a gay man and am ‘married’ to my partner of thirteen years, it is only recently that I began to delve into M/M fiction. What surprised me was the number of women writing about gay sex. It seemed that male writers were in the minority and I thought to myself, “Tris, you can do this.” Now, I’m not saying anything wrong about women writing about men -it’s great; and men have written about women since man learned to make marks on stone, so why not? I just thought that in accordance with the mantra ‘write what you know’ I might be able to make my mark. After all, I’ve known a lot of men over the years!

It probably seems obvious to all you seasoned readers and writers, but for me it was a revelation to find that gay men and straight women who read M/M have somewhat different needs. I think this is because the reality of gay life is still seen by some through rose-tinted spectacles, as all fluffy and pink and romantic. And it can be like that, but for others it is much grittier, especially when both halves of the couple are what we might call ‘alpha male’. Oh, yes, it happens.

In writing On My Knees I have learned a hell of a lot about the genre. What I have tried to do, and I will continue to develop the idea in my forthcoming stories, is deliver a satisfying romance with a happy-ever-after ending whilst touching just a few raw nerves. Stories that can be enjoyed by all fans of the genre. Promiscuity is one such twitchy nerve that comes out in On My Knees. Whether or not promiscuity is actually more prevalent in the gay community than the straight, I don’t genuinely know. I do know that it is an issue often swept under the carpet. I don’t want to roll the carpet back and throw it in the dumpster, but lifting a corner and taking a peek seems fair game. Yes, I’ve been told that I am a terrible tease!

What we all have in common, whether we are gay or straight, male or female, is the need for love and sexual satisfaction. These are the foundations of all our lives and are the fundamental elements of stories, whether they are on the surface or buried deep in some other plotline. The more people writing about it, the better the world will be.

I'd like to add my hurrah to that thought!  Here's a nibble of Tristram's yummy book.

Surviving on alcohol and antidepressants, Mark staggers through his unhappy marriage and watches his London architectural business head for the rocks. When another nasty argument with his wife sends him to the gym to blow off steam, a tall, dark stranger enflames a part of him he’s denied all these years, trying to convince himself he’s not “weird.” But Mark’s not weird, he’s gay. And after a taste of Attila’s lips, nothing can put that genie back in the bottle…

Excerpt
My trunks ballooned with the buffeting of the whirlpool and fizzed when I squeezed them flat. Steam, heavy with the scent of menthol and eucalyptus, rose around me and cleared my head. A few minutes of this and I would be as right as rain. Might even be able to face Diana. I lay back, stretched out my legs and closed my eyes. Christ, she could have injured me—killed me. Was it even safe to go back there? Well, I had nowhere else to go. Even if I had to go down on my knees and beg.
“Room in there for another?”

My eyes sprang open. The guy had left the pool and was coming down the steps into the Jacuzzi, steadying himself on the tubular handrail. I sat up and contracted myself into as small a space as possible while he located the seat beneath the foam and settled down.

“Quiet tonight,” he said.

That accent, what was it? There was a hint of something. What did they call it? Mid-Atlantic?

“Makes a change,” I said, shifting in my seat.

He smiled. I sort of smiled back.

“I’m Attila, by the way.” He leaned forward and offered his hand.

“Mark.”

His hand was still cool from the swimming pool, his grip firm. I now noticed the tattoos on both arms, green and orange serpents entwined around swords or daggers. They reminded me of my father’s. How I used to tremble when those arms came towards me, harbingers of pain. I looked away. Time to get out.

“Well,” I said, climbing the steps. “Might see you around.”

He nodded and smiled again. I could feel his eyes on my back as I took my towel and headed towards the door.

The changing room was still deserted, still in a mess. I dumped my wet towel in the bin and took a clean one from the rack, then went into the inner sanctum where the showers, sauna and steam room were. Since everywhere was empty, I took advantage of the steam. I sucked in the hot, moist air a few times to clear my lungs. The only sound in there was the occasional rasp of the steam outlet and the steady dripping of the condensation. Through the misted door I could see that someone else had come through from the changing room.

Attila’s outline was unmistakable as it emerged through the clouds of steam that gathered and tumbled around the open door...

Yep. He's a tease alright! Don't forget to comment and you may be reading the ending of this scene by Thursday!  LOL. Thank you so much for coming by the blog. :  )

VA FED Goes Gay! Yay!

I hope the Advocate doesn't mind my reproducing this on my blog. It's such a great story and such a wonderful example of what is possible --even in Virginia and in banking --neither of which are known for their striking liberal attitudes. Yay to the VA Federal Reserve!

Va. Federal Reserve Bank Goes Gay

RICHMOND FLAG X390 (SOURCED) | ADVOCATE.COM
The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Va., will fly a rainbow flag during Gay Pride Month at the request of the bank's gay employees.

PRISM, the LGBT group at the Richmond bank, requested that the flag be flown throughout June.

Chief operating officer Sally Green said the bank was flying the pride flag to show its commitment to diversity.

"We strongly support a diverse and inclusive culture at the Richmond Fed and have learned that it is important to value and embrace differences, both seen and unseen," she said, according to Richmond.com.
